Parent Resources

For our families…

Hudson understands that during these unprecedented times, families must have access to relevant, beneficial resources as well as a community that offers consistency and positivity. Students must have a range of tools available to them to stay engaged and focused.

Well-being

In a time of social distancing, one of our main priorities is the overall well-being of students. Children and young adults need to socialize and connect with their peers, and our online classrooms include time for students to engage “socially”.

Homework and Assignments

Our teachers have provided central locations to access assigned work, videos, and resources to reduce the amount of places to obtain them. Teachers have chosen a preferred method to distribute work/resources and to gather student work such as Google folders, Google Classroom, or Seesaw.

We have streamed the curriculum and pace our assignments realistically, recognizing that online learning requires students to work more independently. Where possible, we accommodate the unique learning needs of our students by extending due dates or providing additional resources.

Technology

We are adeptly using Zoom, Google Meets, and Seesaw to deliver our online lessons. Hudson teachers create their own videos for their students, distribute printable resources, and have found creative ways to demonstrate concepts while online.

Communication

As a team of educators we’ve been sharing our experiences, resources, and knowledge with one another so we can best help our families. Our online communication to students has been concise and clear to ensure they understand new concepts. As always, we encourage student feedback and questions.
