Is it June yet – yep, just about! And I’m sure we all feel it hasn’t come too soon.
We’re at the midpoint of this semester. Don’t let up now. Your teachers tell me you are working hard and taking your studies seriously. Well done – you’re almost finished!
June is going to continue to be a busy month.
The Prom is on! The Prom Committee is putting the details together for this fun (online) event. Look for upcoming announcements.
For our Class of 2020, the Thursday, June 25th Graduation Ceremony is a go! Traditionally, the evening begins with a sit-down dinner with the graduates and their families, followed by a program of awards, student speeches, fun stories, fond memories, much picture taking, and yes, all getting their diplomas. While this year there will not be the dinner part, we will still enjoy and experience all the rest virtually!
Special note to graduate families: There’s a little surprise coming early in June. You’re going to like it!
We know we will not be returning to in-school studies in June so the question arises, “when can I get my stuff from my locker?”
Answer: June 8-11; but you CANNOT just show up – we have a plan. I will outline this in a separate email this Monday. Essentially, each grade will come on a separate day, only a couple of students in the building at a time, following safety and social distancing protocol. The email will give you specific details that will need to be followed.
June Day is coming! As you know, on the last day of
classes before the exams begin, we have a year-end celebration. Of course, we’re doing it again this year and the event is on Friday, June 19th – and yes, it will be done virtually. But it’s going to be a show! The Prairies will sponsor it.
We will be sending you the details. Briefly, it will be in the
morning. We will start with the annual presentation of the Athletic
Awards and the special Mathematics Awards. We will announce the individual House Champion Junior, Intermediate, and Senior
And then the House Champion for 2020 will be crowned. Again, this year, I hear the point totals were close with all in the running.
Your final examinations will occur as per the posted year schedule and will take place on Monday, June 22nd, and Tuesday, June 23rd. On each day, the exams will be in the morning. Specific details will follow in a later email as we approach mid-June.
We are already getting ready for September. Planning is well underway. The construction on the new back artificial turf sports field has resumed. The contractor has told us its completion is ahead of schedule. Can’t wait!
