Yesterday afternoon, Hudson College Upper School had the honour of hosting guest mural-artists Caitlin Taguibao and Melissa Luk who spoke to the Art Club over the lunch hour. The artists had prepared a visual timeline of their own works, as well as images of their collaborative, large-scale murals. Their individual and collective works can be found across the globe including Canada, the US and Indonesia.
They spoke about their creative process, as well as the challenges and triumphs of being mural artists. Caitlin and Melissa also shared their collaborative process, as covering a huge wall often needs many hands and minds.
As the Hudson Art Club moves into creating their own collaborative mural, they were reminded of the incredible value of working with others to create a work of art that the school community will love and cherish for years to come.
We appreciate that Melissa and Caitlin were able to share their insight and experience with the Art Club. Their words of wisdom have inspired the club to move forward in the collaborative, creative process with their own project; stay tuned!
