Dear Students, Parents/Guardians,
As we are now in the middle of the month, a few updates for your reference.
First: While some events are still changing around us, our plan for your continued academic success remains the same. It continues to be working; lessons are still going on.
Second: This weekend I will be sending you the upcoming end of April examination schedule. You will see it is set to run over three days exactly as you did for the final exams in December, the end of Semester One.
The difference this time is that you will be doing it at home.
Teachers will be updating you—as they did for the Semester One exams—as to how they will deliver their individual exams.
After all this has passed, life will still continue, and you will still need to be able—and prepared —to meet the academic skill challenges of the next grade level. That’s why your continuing hard work is important—what you learn now will only help to benefit you going forward.
That’s another reason why we are continuing with our exam schedule. Another great opportunity to practice improving your skill(s) on this assessment task.
To remain consistent with the current Ministry of Education policy we will continue to use all the work, assignments, etc., including our upcoming exams, as an opportunity for you to improve your current grades.
So embrace this opportunity to continue your learning. We appreciate this online process can present some learning/communication challenges. As we address this, please remain positive—your teachers are working hard to partner with you.
Third: Your May-June schedules are ready. For a few students I will be contacting you over the next week to confirm your course picks. But for most, your schedule is ready.
As a reminder, Semester Three will begin May 1. At this point, schools in the province will remain closed for direct in school teaching until the middle of May.
As you know from my previous emails, this will NOT affect Hudson. You know the plan. We will start Semester Three online and continue just as we have been doing now.
You would normally meet your new semester teachers on May 1. This will still happen—you’ll just meet and start online. And your new teachers will continue
You will finish Semester Three as originally scheduled. Maybe it will be online for the whole semester. Maybe we will (all) return to in-school study later in May. Either way, you will gain your planned credits.
- Our plan continues to address this situation.
- Your current work, exams, will only be used to improve your current (mid-sem. report) grade. Wow! You can keep learning with no downside!
- Your Semester Three timetables are ready and we will begin on May 1 as mentioned above.
Please continue to remain safe!
