Homework & Testing
Middle School students are continuously tested in an informal manner by our teachers, while regular, formative testing ensures that they’re reaching and surpassing all academic requirements in each of their respective grades. Students receive a reasonable amount of daily homework, with at least ten minutes of assigned homework daily for each grade level (e.g. A Grade 3 student receives approximately 30 minutes of homework daily, a Grade 6 student receives approximately 60 minutes of homework each day).
High-Achieving Student Program
Hudson recognizes high-achieving, academically gifted students, by offering them the opportunity to enhance their academic strengths through deeper exploration of subjects of interest, a faster pace in the presentation of material, and a concentrated focus on higher-level skills in literacy, mathematics, and science.
Hudson also serves as an Extended French School, offering core French. Students learn to speak, read, and write in dynamic classes that follow the Action in Motion (AIM) program, which culls important vocabulary and grammar to be learned in each unit and incorporates them into a play.
